Ark Little Ridge: Hastings Walk to School Winners 2019!

Two very special visitors came to school this morning. Georges Gouet, from Active Hastings, and Councillor Andrew Batsford, from Hastings Borough Council, were here to present the annual Walk to School Challenge trophy to Ark Little Ridge! The trophy was presented to our Year 2 classes who had the highest number of walkers during Walk to School week and was received by birthday boy, Oliver Poole, on behalf of the school.

The children said they had come to school via a variety of means and enjoyed the challenge. Councillor Batsford congratulated the children on their achievement of having the highest number of walkers out of 10 other competing schools and spoke to them about the significance of what they had achieved and how small steps such as walking to school can really have an impact on improving the future health of our planet.

The school will now receive 6 special lunchtime play sessions run by Active Hastings.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the children to achieve this!
