Walk to School Week 21st - 25th May 2018
Ark Little Ridge is joining other local schools to celebrate walking to school. The challenge is for everyone in Hastings to walk to school every day next week during Walk to School Week and make a real difference to children’s happiness and wellbeing. The school with the highest percentage of children walking will receive a trophy and 5 free lunchtime activity sessions led by Active Hastings. So come on…….… get walking – it’s less stressful than trying to park!!
Y4 Racket Festival
A group of Y4 pupils were invited to take part in a Rackets Festival which is new event being run by the Hastings and Rother School Games Partnership (HRSGP).
The event took part at Hortye and children took part in a variety of racket based activities such as badminton, tennis and table tennis. All activities were fun based, skill development activities and great preparation for a mini tennis competition in the summer .
Miss Furniss said, 'The children were absolutely amazing. They all showed such determination and team work throughout. It was great to see them bond over sports and show respect for one another. They all learnt a new skill and some demonstrated things they already knew, supporting the others in the group. We managed to get the highest score in many of the activities that were recorded which is a great achievement.'
