Congratulations Rosie!

Thursday 28 April 2022

The theme of this year’s Rotary Club’s Young Writer Competition was ‘Environment’.  A group of Y5/6 pupils used this competition as a focus during their writing intervention sessions at school with Miss Barnes.

This week, Therese Mahindrakar (MBE JP) President of the Rotary Club of St Leonards and Rotarian, Eric Garland, Club came to present certificates to the entrants.

Each pupil who took part was awarded with a certificate and the overall winner was Rosie Panter from Y6 Cambridge.   For this, Rosie was presented with a £20 book voucher.  Rosie’s entry was then submitted to the Regional competition where she was awarded second place, winning a further certificate and an Amazon voucher for £20. Well done everyone and special congratulations to Rosie for her winning entry.  A big thank you also to the Rotary Club for their £100 donation to the school which will be used to purchase more books for the school and a special thank you to Miss Barnes for supporting the children with their writing sessions.
