Our Year 6 children have been offered an exciting opportunity to visit the University of Sussex in Brighton. This trip is an excellent way to raise aspirations among our students and allows them to feel inspired by the possibilities that higher education has to offer.

Y6 Trip to The Ridge Fire Station
Wednesday 25 June
Year 6 have been invited to attend a ‘Safety in Action’ afternoon at Hastings Community Fire Station on The Ridge. The afternoon involves children working on activities designed to promote personal safety and will be particularly beneficial to them as they will soon transition to secondary school.

Y5 Trip to Hastings Country Park
Wednesday 02 July
As part of our Life Cycles and Biomes topics, we will be taking part in two workshops at the Bale House in Hastings Country Park.
The children will be taking part in the following two activities:
- A ‘Suncatchers’ workshop in the Bale House which is all about the lifecycle of plants (it also includes several fun interactive games about pollination and seed dispersal).
- A ‘Farm to Food’ walk which covers how the Country Park is funded through the Higher Stewardship Grant, growing food- crops and animals, grazing animals (ponies and cattle), the importance of hedgerows, soil health and natural predators.
The children will be taking part in the following two activities:

The PGL Windmill Hill Centre is set in 21 acres of grounds on the Sussex Downs. Following a major investment programme the centre, which was opened in 2009, now boasts an impressive spacious, 2000m² indoor sports hall, a wide range of outdoor activities and en-suite lodge accommodation throughout.
