We believe that learning from first hand experience is very powerful and provides lasting impact. To aid this, all pupils from Reception up to Year 6 have the opportunity to make termly visits to the surrounding community and beyond. We take advantage of our prime position on the south coast and support our children to experience all that it has to offer in terms of its social, historical and geographical content.
All visits link to the our school's topic-based approach to learning. For example, children visit the Hastings and Bexhill Museum as a part of the history focus on uncovering the past, and children studying animal habitats visit Drusilla’s Park, looking at where animals live.
School journey
In Year 6, pupils have the opportunity to join the School Journey in the Summer Term. This action-packed week is full of challenge, fun and excitement with outdoor activities, night-time activities and sports. It is a wonderful chance for them to develop teamwork skills outside of the classroom in a new environment. The children develop their independence and leave feeling energised and prepared for secondary school life.
